iOS 9: Everything You Need To Know

There are going to be a lot of awesome things that come along with iOS 9. Siri is getting a lot of huge improvements, there is a new split screen feature that allows you to run several different apps at the same time, better battery life, and a new Low Power mode are all things we have to look forward to.

A lot of people out there are wondering when they will be able to get their hands on iOS 9, or if their devices will even be compatible. Every year there is a new list of devices that aren’t able to get the new update. Some people are also scared that they might have to delete a ton of stuff to even be able to download the new operating system like many did when iOS 8 came out. That was a catastrophe. Well, if you have any of this on your mind, we have the answers. So don’t worry.

iOS 9 release dateApple is going about this release a little bit differently than in the past. Now there will not only be a Developer Beta, but there will also be a public beta that you can get before the official release. Even though that is super cool, and it would be awesome to get a crack at it before everyone else, you should keep in mind that the OS will be unstable until the official release. So think for a bit before you commit.

Will my device get iOS 9?Like I said earlier, every year there is a list of devices that don’t make the cut and don’t get to have the new operating system. This makes sense though. Outdated devices sometimes have a lot of trouble running new features and codes that they weren’t designed for, and creating a stripped down version of the operating system wouldn’t make any sense because of how many key features would be left out. BUT, you should be glad to know that this year’s list is exactly the same as it was when iOS 8 came out. If you got the update then, you’ll get it this time around as well.

Space requirementsAh, the moment you have all been waiting for. With iOS 8, lots of people had to tragically delete almost everything on their device to fit it. And then, didn’t have much storage space to do anything else with. The update last year was 4.6GB, which is ridiculous. This year, you will be pleased to know that iOS 9 will only take up 1.3GB of space. That is 350% less. So we all have that to be happy about.
